In addition to being a strong female character in literature, Alice in Wonderland has suffrage buffs in her corner. In 2012 we celebrated the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s first telling of “Alice in Wonderland.” Our suffrage grandmothers, great grandmothers and other ancestors raised their children with the Alice story.

Alice tourism and travel is alive and well. Lewis Carroll’s birthplace is a travel destination for many. LINK1. LINK2. It’s also possible to arrange an Alice-based tour. The 2012 observances in the UK had many surprises, such as Link #1. Link #2. Link #3.

During November 2012, we celebrated Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s birthday and promoted Seneca Falls, New York as a travel destination. LINK
