At Suffrage Wagon Cafe we are preparing for the exhibition of the “Spirit of 1776” suffrage wagon during 2020 when U.S. women will have been voting for 100 years. The wagon was exhibited in 2017 at the New York State Museum and viewed by an untold number of people in Albany, New York. It was an exciting time, and now the wagon needs a break from light and dust.

This means R&R in the state museum’s warehouse. Meanwhile, let’s honor Edna B. Kearns, who with activist Irene Davison and young Serena Kearns took the horse-drawn wagon on its first journey in 1913 from New York City to Long Island.

A special program to honor Edna B. Kearns, a New York State suffrage activist!
